Michelle has been well trained, holding a master’s degree in clinical mental health from National Louis University. She also holds an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) credential. Additionally she is a CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor). She has extensive experience working as a substance abuse counselor in residential treatment facilities.
Michelle’s expertise and approach is quite eclectic. She operates from a Rogerian person-centered approach. She allows the counseling relationship to flow more naturally while incorporating a variety of theories and techniques based on the individual client’s needs and preferences. She has extensive experience using Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Bowlby's Attachment Theory.
When Michelle isn't helping those around her through therapy and counseling, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, sleeping in, and playing with her two dogs. She is passionate about helping others by providing encouragement, a listening ear, and building healthy relationships with her clients.
